More Pictures of Dyna Giving Birth

Here are some pictures I took before and after Dyna started giving birth to her puppies. Sue and I were pretty busy, not to mention getting tired, so I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked.

This is Dyna deciding if she's going to go into labor or not...



After deciding that she might as well get prepared, Dyna started making her bed... or I should say re-making her bed after Sue made it for her.



Here she is just before the first birth giving it some real hard consideration...

And after thinking about it, here was the first boy...



After a few more hours here are 6 of the 7...



I believe this is all 7 puppies in here... I lose count after awhile with no sleep.



Here is Dyna feeding those that haven't had their fill yet...



A few that know how to get a good meal...



Dyna catching up on some much needed rest while the kids do what they do best at this age.

Poor baby! In that first picture Dyna looks like an overfilled water balloon! I'm sure she's glad it's over.

Sarah, yes, she started getting uncomfortable the last few days, huffing and puffing more as the weight of the puppies really started to tell on her. I wish I had gotten pictures of Chevelle when she had the first litter. She was a lot fatter than Dyna, even considering that Chevelle was a bigger dog and had only 3 more puppies than Dyna's litter. Chevelle's first litter the puppies were a lot bigger over all I believe, so the extra ounces per puppy really added up.

But yes, I think Dyna was very glad to get them out. She's already back to her slim trim self, except for the hanging milk sacks. Sue has said it several times, but she really has been a great momma dog and I'm really amazed at the instincts she has for having puppies and taking care of them. She seems to know what to do.

Thanks, Sarah. We plan on getting lots more pictures and hope to get some really nice ones with more formal setup and lighting. If I can find the energy to set up my lights.
