Default Dogs In Cars

__. OK, here's a story for you:

__. We were going to visit Laura's family and decided to take her "waggin" (an '03 VW Jetta wagon - called the "waggin" because she bought it for the dogs). I'd had a short night, so we put Ellie's bed in the back and I tossed a light blanket and my pillow back there. The idea was that she would drive (she being Laura, not Ellie) and I'd nap for a while. So I stretched out on Ellie's bed and she snuggled with me (did someone say something about a bouv being a bed-hog?). We traveled for a while and it got to be lunch time so we stopped, Laura went in to get us road-food, and I walked El. She came back and El got a bite or two of burger and a couple of fries (happy girl!) and so I decided to go get dessert. Laura wanted a dipped cone and I got a "Blizzard" and I bought a "kid's cone" for Ellie. I came back, sat in the front passenger seat and dropped El's cone in her food bowl just behind the seats. Speaking of "happy girl" - she had ice cream in her mustache and beard and she licked and licked. Then she got down to where there was only ice cream in the cone. She puzzled over this for a minute, then picked the cone up, walked over to my pillow, dropped the cone right in the middle of it, and then smashed it flat. Once that was done, she set about gobbling it up. In moments there were only tiny bits of cone left -- and a very big wet spot on my pillow! We had a good laugh over THAT one!

__. Aren't they entertaining?????

That is so funny. But so "Bouvier" as well. So I take it you didn't nap the rest of the way?

Our dogs have always loved DQ too. Do you know that a lot of the stores offer free "doggie cones?"

The only problem I've had is that a few of the most ice cream lovin'est dogs were also the ones whose stomachs rebelled when something cold hit them. I think Chevelle held the record for the fastest ice cream upchuck.

Ya gotta love the way Bouvs solve problems though, eh? Somehow those big feet usually are involved.

Cheers,
Sue
