I make one and 3-D wood dog figures with attached magnets so they can be displayed from any metal surface. I also do portraits. Bailey is a recent commission, and Joe and I live with Tara and Jake.

Neat idea, Sandra. I'll bet just about every Bouv person, not to meantion any serious dog person, has at least one dog magnet hanging on their refridgerator. Some of us have a few more.

I wish. Actually, I began making caricatures of Bouviers based upon a pair of earrings a student gave me years ago, in my former life. I have one still, there are a few more scattered about Ontario. Then I began developing more realistic heads. My very best customer lives in Alberta. She's ordered 2 rottweilers and a Jack Russel. Joe and I had to leave our RV trip in November so I could get home and make her the second rotty to mail to her in time for Christmas.

Well, it's probably not something that will make anyone rich, that's for sure. I think it's more the feeling of being able to do something that others appreciate. I guess if I was trying to make a living at some of this stuff I'd feel differently. But mostly I just enjoy doing it. If I was better I'd enjoy it more though.

You're absolutely right. They are lots of fun to make and I get to use a lot of power tools, whoo, whoo, whoo!

Sandra...What mediums do you use for your portraits? I am a pencil and color pencil person myself, with some silverpoint efforts as well.

Hi David,
I use acrylic paints on pieces of wood that I cut out on a scroll saw or canvas panels. I like the forgiving nature of acrylics, the ease of clean-up and my stay-wet palette keeps the paints workable for extended periods of time. Sandra

I have a new product which could have a Bouv on it, but has instead a JR as I'm now working strictly on commissions.
BTW, Tara and Jake are experienced RVers now. We've been Winter Texans for most of the winter, so now I'm ready to do some more art. My new email's joensandie@gmail.com

Sandie, I for one would take one if you can advise on prices. In fact, I would go for about 3.

Hi there,
They're $40. The heart background is 12 inches across at the widest part and it's 12 inches top to bottom. This piece is hangs from a hook. There is a spacer between the head and background. If you're still interested, you can email me a jpg. PS, my website's now located at: sandiescritters.ca and is under "reconstructive surgery". The email portion in the contact us link is working though. Sandie

Very nice, Sandra. Yes, I can see where you could put any breed of dog, cat or what ever on it.
