Default Jules, heading to Texas

This is Jules, the natural eared and tailed Bouvier girl from Frank and Dyna's (Dyna takes all the credit) litter in Feb, 2009. She stayed with us for her first 10 1/2 months and here is getting ready to hop in the car to go check out her future human companion. Jules is going to be a working girl and is decked out in the harness that her dad Frank, her great Aunt Caprice and great grandpaw Sam all wore when they held the responsibility of being Sue's service Bouvier. Now she is going to be a 4th generation service dog for another human and carry on the tradition of the Bouviers from the Echo Bouvier Kennel.

These are pictures from the last time I got to see her before she left on her trip to Texes...

I wanted to get a couple showing her tail, even though the pictures are not that great...

Here is Jule's normal expression, happy and ready for anything...

Although some times she did put on a more serious face...

Great pictures Mike. She and Scarlet look very much alike in the face and facial expressions. Even though she headed to a good home, I'm sure it was hard to let her go after 10 months.

I tried talking Sue into switching with Rose or Echo. Dell might have figured out that Rose was a ringer, but with some fast talking, distractions, low light, a glued on tail and a BIG Service Dog cape, Echo might have managed to pull it off. And with the free Dashound with ever puppy still in effect, she would have been so grateful, she wouldn't have ever noticed. But Sue didn't want to try it. Darn.

Well yes, Jules leaving was bittersweet indeed. I do miss her happy little presence, but then there is the knowledge that she will have such a wonderful life having her own person to to help, instead of being a third string service dog here. Dell clearly adores her and the way the bond developed between them so quickly reminded me so much of the way you and Red first met. I don't think I'll ever forget the way she took one look at you when I put her in your lap, and clearly decided that you were HER person. Dell and Jules met in the afternoon and we hung out at the hotel until we went to dinner. When we returned to the hotel, Jules layed down on the floor next to Dell and used her feet for a pillow. So much wisdom for such a young girl.

Wagner certainly misses his partner in crime, but then he has also figured out that all the toys are HIS which seems to have eased the pain of parting too. I snagged a big bag of stuffed toys from Freecycle the other day and he immediately went shopping when I opened the bag... choosing one toy, then another, than another. One of his favorites is a Trueheart Care Bear that talks and says things like "Wow...You are SOOOO Huggable!" (which is the truth for sure).

Merry holidays to everyone...
