So how young is too young to work your Bouvier in the protection mode? For my way of thinking, it can't happen soon enough. I like to start at 7-8 weeks of age. Let the puppy watch from the safety of a wire crate, imprinting is a behavior we do even with our Labs.
The biggest mistake is to put too much pressure and too much defense on a breed or lines which already have this in them. Let your puppies be "kids."
